This Privacy Policy explains how Jonathan Kaplan (Kaplan Sparrow / Jonathan Kaplan as Jack Sparrow) (“we,” “us,” or “I”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit kaplansparrow.com, request a quote, book an appearance, or otherwise contact us.

Name, email address, phone number
Event details (date, time, location, type of event, guest count, special requests)
Messages you send by form, email, or booking platforms
Contract and invoice details when you book
Payment-related details needed to process deposits and balances (we do not store full credit card numbers on this website)

Information from booking platforms:
If you inquire or book through GigSalad, The Bash, or similar platforms, we receive the information those platforms share with us for quoting and booking.

Payment processors
Payments may be processed by Stripe, PayPal, Venmo, or similar services. Those companies handle your payment data under their own privacy policies. We receive confirmation of payment and limited billing details needed for invoices and records.

Automatically collected information
When you visit the website, our host and analytics tools collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring site, and approximate location. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (for example which pages are popular and how people find us). Google may process this data under its own terms; see Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use Analytics.

Photos and video
Clients and guests often share event photos and videos with us. How those may be used for promotion is covered in our Policies (Photo & Video Use). If you prefer we not use your event media, tell us in writing at booking (or as soon as possible afterward) at contact@kaplansparrow.com.

Prepare agreements, invoices, and bookings
Coordinate appearances, travel, and add-ons
Process payments and keep business records

When we share information

How long we keep information
We keep booking, contract, and payment records as long as needed for the business relationship, legal, tax, and accounting purposes, then delete or de-identify them when they are no longer needed. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings and Google’s practices.

Ask what personal information we hold about you
Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep
Opt out of non-essential marketing email (booking and contract messages may still be necessary)

Children’s privacy

This website and our booking services are directed to adults arranging events. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children online. Event entertainment may involve children as guests; we do not use that as a reason to collect children’s data through the website.

Third-party links and embeds

Our site may link to or embed third-party services (for example YouTube, social media, GigSalad, The Bash, Cameo). Their privacy practices are their own. Review their policies when you use those services.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
